NZ Wrap & Nets recently completed this specialised containment project for Bay of Plenty Steeplejacks at the Fulton Hogan site on Hewletts Road, creating a fully enclosed workspace around an oil expansion tank undergoing sandblasting and repainting.
The project required complete containment of the work area to control dust, debris, and coating materials throughout the blasting and painting process. To achieve this, we installed a full Safe Seal Shrink Wrap containment system, including a fully enclosed structure and, for the first time, an integrated flooring system.
The addition of flooring created a complete containment environment from top to bottom, helping isolate the work area and providing greater control over the blasting and painting process. This approach not only improves environmental containment but also creates a cleaner, safer, and more efficient workspace for contractors carrying out specialised industrial work.
Projects like this demonstrate how shrink wrap can be used far beyond traditional weather protection. By creating fully enclosed work environments, industrial maintenance, coating applications, abrasive blasting, and other sensitive processes can continue with minimal disruption from external conditions.
At NZ Wrap & Nets, we're continually looking for ways to expand the capabilities of shrink wrap systems and deliver innovative solutions for complex projects. The addition of flooring systems opens up even more opportunities for industrial containment work where environmental control and compliance are critical.
